2019 Re”Sew”loutions

The #resewloution tag is a challenge that was created last year by Cotton by Candy and Fabric Magpie. The tag encourages sewers to answer the following questions and I thought it would be fun to play along.

Favorite make 2018

I already answered this question in my 2018 Sewing Review post, but just a quick recap.

Taking a look back at 2018 and sharing my latest autumn makes, my fave patterns of the year, my most fun makes and of course my proudest make of the year.
Still loving my gold slipcover

My most fun make was my gold dress for the #sewfrosting challenge, my proudest make of the year was my sofa slipcover, and my most made pattern of the year was the Honeycomb dress and shirt from Coco Wawa Crafts.

Will not do in 2019

There is nothing that I would say that I attempted this year that I wouldn’t do again. However, I did realize that this year I’ve been making garments more for challenges and not just for the fun of it.

So, I’ve decided that this year I’m not going to really focus on challenges and predetermined plans. Instead, I’m going to focus on just sewing for the heck of it and sew whatever I feel like making when I get the urge.

Continue to make

I pretty much will be continuing with what I’ve been doing sewing wise as far as the type of garments I have been making. But like I said earlier I want to do more sewing on a whim.

Trying this year

This past Christmas my hubby got me the Brothers SE625 sewing and embroidery machine. I am super excited about this machine and the possibility of doing embroidery.

Planning on working with my new Brothers SE 625 this year

Thus, this year I will be learning how to use this machine and try my hand at adding some machine embroidery to my projects.

Wardrobe in 5 Years

If I’ve said it once I’ll say it again, my ideal goal would to have every single outfit from the original 1960’s Parent Trap film. So that is my long-term goal.

At the end of this year, where do I see my wardrobe, I’m not really sure. My goal is to lose another 30 pounds by the end of the year so what I make at the start of the year might not fit by the end of the year. So, I’m going to make this year a practice year for making garments as I work towards my goal weight.

I’d love to hear in the comments below, what are your re”sew”olutions?
