September is National Sewing month and we are celebrating with the #SEWtember2018 sew-along challenge.

It was in 1982 when President Reagan proclaimed September as National Sewing Month., “In recognition of the importance of home sewing to our Nation.”
The American Sewing Guild is one of the main organizations that work to promote National sewing month and get people sewing.
I thought wouldn’t it be fun to encourage others to start sewing by hosting a sew-along that would provide beginner sewers a step by step guide to sewing. I also wanted to make this challenge accessible to as many as possible so I decided the sew-along would be for a free pattern, that everyone would have access to.
While this was a good idea, I felt that doing one sew-along would be limited to beginner sewers. Not everyone would want to make the same thing I’m making. So, I got in touch with some of my fabulous sewing vloggers who were already doing great sewing tutorials asked if they wanted to join the fun and celebrate National Sewing Month.

Needless to say #Sewtember2018 was put together!
In this series, I and the following amazing vloggers have teamed up to encourage you to get started or get back into sewing by following along with a series of sewing tutorials for free PDF patterns.

Now what fun is a sew-along challenge is there aren’t prizes involved.
So, I went through my stash and came up with two lovely prizes to give away along with this challenge.
