Most people wouldn’t know but I’m ⅛ Irish on my Mother’s side. My mother’s father, father (or my great grandfather) was of Irish descent. In fact my mother’s maiden name is Duncan, which is Celtic in origin.
It’s also widely known that my favorite color is GREEN! So, with my love of green and small Irish background it’s only natural that I would enjoy dressing up for St. Patrick’s Day.
Cornerstone of Classy Dress in Shamrock
During the after Christmas sale at Modcloth , the same sale which I purchased my Baking Spirits Bright Skirt and Boston Dream Pie Dress; I purchased the Cornerstone of Classy Dress in shamrock.
This lovely green shamrock colored dress is indeed classy. It features an a-line skirt, square neckline and waistline pleats. The dress is made up of a mix of polyester and spandex, making it very comfy.
I decided to get the dress in a slightly larger size because I sometimes find Modcloth dresses on the small size. However, I somewhat regretting my decision, because it’s a little loose in the bustline and shoulders. Still the waistline is perfect.
My favorite feature of the Cornerstone of Classy Dress is of course the color. This shamrock green is fabulous. Although my favorite color is green, I don’t actually have many green dresses so this dress really fills that void in my closet.
I also really love the pockets. Any dress with pockets is a bonus to me.
One thing I’m not fond of however is that the dress is dry clean only. I hate taking time to go to the dry cleaners. Still since this is a pretty classy dress, I don’t plan on wearing it daily so it’s not like it will need be washed frequently.
Get Your Own
As you can imagine I plan to wear this lovely dress for my St. Patrick’s festivities, which for me probably means dinner with the hubby and some sort of green dessert.
Anyways, if you want to reduce your risk of getting pinched this St. Patrick’s day, be sure to dress in Green. While unfortunately the Cornerstone of Classy Dress is sold out, as always Modcloth has a ton of fun green colored dresses and tops that would make the prefect St. Patrick’s day outfit.
Terrific dress! It really has a great mid-century look to it and that cheerful shade of green seems made for spring’s return.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day wishes!
Thank you Miss Jessica. Yes the color is lovely and I plan on wearing it for St. Patrick’s Day. Wishing you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day as well.
