Akram's Ideas : Tabitha Dress

Tabitha Dress

Yet another dress I whipped up for my little niece Layla, this summer was vintage McCall’s 6899 pattern. I’m calling it the Tabitha dress, because it reminds me of the dresses that little Tabitha would wear on Bewitched.

Along with using a vintage pattern I used some vintage cotton floral fabric I came across at an antique store. I didn’t have much but just enough for the pattern and little bit for a matching hair bow.

Love it when I use every inch of fabric

The construction of the dress was rather simple and I didn’t have any real issues with the dress. Although sewing those small buttons on by hand was kind of a pain.

The dress pattern was meant for a 1-year-old and while Layla is barely 6-months, it kind of swallowed her. Still, she’s growing everyday and I’m betting it won’t be long until she is able to wear this dress well.
