Sometimes the perfect outfit comes together and you didn’t even plan it. That’s what happened for my Snow White Cosplay!
A Mimi & Delphine
So, during my spring makes I planned to make a Mimi blouse from Tilly & the Buttons book Love at First Stitch.
I knew right away I needed to make another one and as it so happens I had some lovely Mary Engelbreit fabric in my stash. This was the perfect choice for a Mimi blouse.
Now after making the first Mimi blouse I thought I’d make another Delphine skirt as from Tilly & the Buttons book Love at First Stitch. If you’ve been a long time reader of Akram’s Ideas, you’ll know that I love the Delphine skirt and have made many versions of this skirt.
I’d really be wanting to make a yellow version of this skirt, much like the sample in the book. So, I looked through my stash and found some nice yellow linen.
Once I made the second Mimi blouse and took a second look at the yellow skirt it suddenly dawned on me!
I had made an accidental Snow White cosplay outfit!
Cosplay as Snow White
The timing for this accidental outfit couldn’t have been better. I made this outfit in early June and I was actually going to be at Tokyo in Tulsa, an anime / comic-con type convention the following month.
So, I found this great little hair gadget to roll up my long hair and paired it with a red ribbon to really pull the look together.
It was so fun dressing up as Snow White, especially when everyone was coming up to me and was like “Are you a pinup, Snow White?” Sure, I’ll go with that.
Speaking of which, I like that this cosplay was pretty laid back. It didn’t take a lot of effort and the style made it easy to wear.
Do You Cosplay?
I’ve always been a fan of dressing up and doing a bit of cosplay, but haven’t really shared that much about it on the blog.
I’d love to know in the comments below if you cosplay and if you’d like to see more posts and vlogs about cosplay?
