Spring is in the air and it’s time to pull out the floral prints and flowy dresses for this month edition of “On the Sewing Table”.
March 2017 Sewing Plans
The last few month I’ve done very little sewing and with garden season right around the corner, I’m going to have to split my free time between sewing and yard work.
With that said I’ve decided to try to stick with 3 projects a month. We will see how successful I am at it.
Vogue 1397
I’ve already shared that I plan to make Vogue 1397 for my #EasterSpringDress2017 sewalong. I choose this pattern because I purchased the
I choose this pattern because I purchased the Inside Vogue Patterns: Tracy Resse V1397 from Craftsy.com during a black Friday sale last fall. Immediately I thought this would make a perfect spring dress.
While the deadline for this project is April 12, I really want to do a high-quality job on this project, so I’m starting early and plan to take my time.
Although I knew from the start what pattern I’d be using for this project, I couldn’t decide if I wanted to make the dress in the blue or pink fabric.
So, let me know in the comments below which of the two fabrics you’d most like me to use for this pattern.
The Sassy Librarian Blouse
Another Craftsy.com course I purchased ages ago was The Sassy Librarian Blouse with Christen Haynes. Even though I have watched the course in its’ entirety I have never gotten around to actually making this blouse.
This year I placed the Sassy Librarian Blouse on my make 9 project list, plus I thought it would be perfect for the #wardrobebuilder February’s prompt.
Of course, February has come and gone I’ve decided to move this project to March.
New Look 6108
For Christmas, I made my Mom the Sew It With Love Delia Top. From the beginning, the plan was to make a matching skirt to go with the top, but I ran out of time.
Since my mother’s birthday happens to be at the end of March I’ve decided to go ahead and make her the matching skirt.
For this project, I’ve decided to use New Look 6108 which features a simple pull on skirt. The project seems pretty simple and quick.
Other Plans
Like I said my big focus this month is my #EasterSpringDress2017 project. However, if I do manage to somehow get done with the projects above I have a few more items in the queue.
Agnes Top
This month’s #wardrobebuilder prompt is a t-shirt. I’m actually in love with sewing with knits right now and for my birthday last October, I got myself Tilly and the Buttons Agnes pattern.
I’ve been meaning to make this for some time but hadn’t a chance. Then recently I stumbled upon some anchor jersey fabric at my local antique shop.
Then recently I stumbled upon some anchor jersey fabric at my local antique shop. I thought this would be the perfect pairing.
If I don’t make it to the Agnes top then it will definitely be on my April to make list.
Easter Dress for Layla
I haven’t’ made a dress for my niece Layla since Christmas, and it just so happens I have a small amount of easter themed fabric that be adorable on her.
I’d love to make her a fun easter dress, but don’t know if I actually have time to do so. If not skip it and perhaps make her some summer playsuits instead.
What’s on your Sewing Table?
So, what are your sewing plans for March? Are you participating in the #EasterSpringDress2017 or #wardrobebuilder project?
Hi
What a fab list, love the eastern dress plans, will look forward to seeing the progress. Love the anchor jersey will look great as an Agnes, what a great find !
I am making a Burda skirt , for which I’ve just finalised the toile.
Yes, that anchor jersey was quite a find. Congrats on getting your toile done, hope the final project turns out just the way you hope.
