Can you believe it’s already December? Where did the time go?
As a college professor I’m pretty swapped after fall break until Thanksgiving break. It’s during this time mid-term grades are due, final projects have been assigned, advisement for next semester takes place and a whole bunch of other things.
Once December rolls around there are only two weeks left of classes and I have to spend my evenings grading and responding to last-minute project questions in the classroom and even at 2am via email sometimes.
With so much work to do, I can’t even think about Christmas until after the 15th, when grades are due and the semester is finally over. Despite not having time to get in the Christmas mood, it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas all around.
While not busy with schoolwork I’ve been working some on my endless home remodel projects and am so hoping to have a working kitchen by Christmas.
Besides all that I’m also hoping to debut a couple of new features for the blog. I’m starting a monthly newsletter; you can sign up for it in the sidebar. The newsletter will have extra recipes and tutorials and such. I’m really excited about it and would love to hear what you’d like to see in the newsletter.
Another new feature for Akram’s Ideas is the inclusion of the Fiction category. After going through my vintage magazines I found so many included a short story or a whole monthly series of a story. As an wishful writer I thought why not add a fiction category and start writing stories. I’ve decided to start with a story that’s been floating around my head for some time; the title is “This Year” and I plan to post a new chapter each month, starting on Dec 31.
As I said I have a lot planned for Akram’s Ideas for the coming weeks and New Year and can’t wait to share it all with you. Be sure to sign up for my newsletter and stay tuned for things to come.
Three very big cheers for the wearing of festive red! It, along with wintry metallics, are the colours that I’m feeling most pulled towards this holiday season.
I hope that you’ve been having a fantastic December, sweet gal, and that this Christmas will be filled with fun, joy and lots of great memories for you.
Big hugs,
♥ Jessica
Thanks Jessica!
Red and green are my two favorite colors so I tend to wear a those shades a lot, especially during the holidays and always look festive.
Hope your having a good holiday season yourself.
