It is on a crisp October morning I remember the quote by L.M. Montgomery, from Anne of Green Gables, which states, “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
October has always been my favorite month. It’s usually the when the temperatures here in the mid-west are the nicest. It’s cool enough for a sweater, but warm enough to still make use of my cotton sun dresses.
October is the month of Halloween, which is my favorite holiday. I love dressing up and coming up with costume ideas. This year I have a great one, but I’ll be sharing that a little later this week.
October, being my favorite month is also the month I got married. Me and my hubby celebrated our nine year anniversary last week. Nine years, that’s crazy and somehow it doesn’t seem that long at all.
Lastly of course October is also my birthday month. Which so happens to be today, October 13th. Don’t ask how old I am, it’s not that I mind telling, I just have to do some math. I very often forget how old I am.
Age for me doesn’t seem to matter, I’m as old as I feel. Even if that means some days I feel 82 and others 22. I live by the quote “What age would you be, if you didn’t know your age”. Age is all a matter of opinion in some cases.
So what are my plans for my birthday month? Recover! September was not the best month. I had a few meltdowns, I’ll admit. Work got to me, I whacked my head (twice in the same week) and ended up getting sick.
I’ve been feeling so overwhelmed with the move and new job, things all seemed to pile up at once.
Despite all this, the onset of October seemed to have lifted my sprites. I took the past weekend off to relax and spend quality time with my hubby. I even got some sewing done.
I’m feeling much better and now that fall break is upon me, I’m looking forward to getting caught up at work and feeling less stressed.
So, with that said I wish you all a happy October and look forward to sharing some fun projects with you this month, so stay tuned.
