Life in Boxes

It’s funny how quickly things can change. It seemed like only yesterday I was packing up and moving from Oklahoma City all the way to Pittsburg, Kansas. Now 4 years later I’m packing up again and moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

I didn’t plan on having my life in boxes again, but me and my hubby couldn’t pass up the job opportunities we were given. Thus, the “Great Move” begins.

The move actually happened in August, the initial move anyways. Me and my hubby are both teachers so we had to be at work on August 3rd, which meant moving down the most essential items first.

Slowly but surely we’ve been moving things and it’s just crazy. We went from a 2300 sq foot house to just under a 1000 sq foot apartment. Despite the size difference I think I’m adjusting well to the change.

With moving and a new job, I’ve had little time to dedicate to writing posts, and want to apologize for the radio silence. However, this month I hope to get back into my blogging routine.

Also, I’ve got some super cool things planned for this month and next, like my first ever hosted sew-along. Stay tuned next week to hear about the details, I’m looking forward to it and hope you will be too.

Anyways, with that said I’m going to get back to unpacking and sorting and the other million and one things I should and need be doing.

Until next time …

  • Wow, that is quite the shift in sizes. Tony and I need to do the opposite – go from about 1,200 square feet (of our current condo) to something more in the 2,500 – 4,000 foot range. It’s absolutely not possible to do such now, but that’s the dream. At present, we’ll just keep squishing two people, to lively pets, two businesses, and all of my Etsy shop stock into one modest sized abode.

I wish you all the best with this exciting new chapter of your lives and seriously commend you for taking to downsizing, for the time being, so well. Awesome job, dear gal!

Have a fantastic Labour Day long weekend!

    • Yes the size difference is a big change. However, mostly what we have is collectables, so keeping packed up in storage is not a big deal. I wish you luck on someday having your dream home. Until then you seem to be doing a good job, from what I’ve seen in your videos, you have a nice place.
