It is that time of year again where our schedule fills up with several holiday parties. From holiday luncheons at the office to, parties with friends and family get together, you might be at a loss as to what to wear.
While I must admit my new-found love of sewing helps me keep my wardrobe fresh, but not everyone has the time, and let’s face it there are some nice clothes out there.
The Holiday Office Party
I’ll begin my holiday dress guide with a look at some suitable options for the holiday office party.
My first choice would be the Demure the Best Dress. This dress is professional, but has a bit of holiday cheer with the little bow.
My second choice for the office party is the Making Moves Dress. This form-fitting dress features a faux-fur collar and lacy overlay. Not only is it stylish but also professional enough to wear to work.
Friend’s Holiday Party
Outside of the office one can be a little more extravagant and fun with their holiday dress selection. When attending a friend’s holiday party it’s a good idea to ask about the party dress code, you won’t want to show up over or under dressed.
For these types of parties I really like wearing something that sparkles, that’s why I plan on wearing my You’ve Got Sparkle Dress.
Unfortunately this dress is no longer available. Luckily however, ModCloth has many other sparkly dresses. A good alternative for the You’ve Got Sparkle Dress, is the Goodnight, Swoon Dress. This dress sparkles with golden, floral embroidery and has a lovely sweetheart neckline.
Another sparkly dress I’m fawning over is the Twinkling in Twilight Dress. This fully lined dress is styled with shimmering silver sequins and is bound to get you noticed.
Family Holiday Get Together
The last pair of dresses on my list are one appropriate for holiday family gatherings. Family gatherings can often be a bit stressful and sometimes overwhelming, especially if you are the host. Therefor, I prefer to dress for comfort for these types of holiday parties, since more than likely it will be a long event and probably involve children and pets.
I think that the Curator de Force Dress would be a good choice for a family event. This knit dress features long sleeves and a folded neckline. This dress also has an elastic waist and would be very comfy and durable for a long day with relatives. I also like the fun accent for the wooden buttons on the collar.
If you are wanting something a little more dressy I suggest the Pretty on the Park Bench Dress. This a-line dress is made of cotton and has a gorgeous red floral pattern that gives it a holiday feel. I think this dress works well because it has a fun and different pattern but still casual enough to set on the sofa with kiddos.
Why Wait for Black Friday
In fact starting today (Nov 21) and going through Wednesday (Nov 26) ModCloth is having a daily Seize the Deal Sale. Each day throughout the sale selected items will be 50% off for 24 hours.
I suggest if you’re looking for that special holiday dress that this would be a great time to buy! So what are you waiting for go check out the sale, I know I am.
