A review of my day trip to the Tulsa Art Deco Museum at Philcade Building in downtown Tulsa.

Tulsa Art Deco Museum

Art Deco refers to the is an influential visual arts design style that flourished between the 1920s and 1930s.

Whenever, I think of Art Deco I can’t help but think of Agatha Christie’s Poirot. The storyline takes place during the same time period and if you’ve ever watched the long running BBC series you really get a sense of Art Deco style.

Tulsa Philcade Building

Sine me and my hubby are still new to the Tulsa area we are always looking for new fun things to check out.

One of those things just happen to be the Tulsa Philcade Building which happens to be in the heart of the Tulsa’s Deco District.

The Tulsa’s Deco District features several historical buildings and locations in the area. The Philcade Building is one such structure. Built in the early 1930s the building is noted for its Art Deco zigzag style architecture.

While there are only a few exhibits in this tiny museum, they still were tantalizing to see.

Great Day Trip

The Tulsa Art Deco Museum was a lot of fun. I definitely will be going back to take more pictures and maybe even do some outfit photos in the lovely setting.

I encourage anyone in the area to at least visit the museum once. It takes about an hour to go through and what’s nice is it’s free. It’s a fun way to get a little closer to history.
